Bell Ringing
Ringing is from the ground floor and the band
practice on a Thursday.
Because of the close proximity of nearby houses
and the local school,
ringing by visiting bands is limited. Whilst the
bells are "easy going"
several are "odd struck" and this
together with the moderately long draught means
that they are more demanding of good bell control
and a keen ear than for many other bells.
Grandsire and Stedman triples are regularly rung
for Sunday Service, and on practice nights with
one or two visitors we often ring Cambridge and
Yorkshire.
Our current band includes ringers with abilities
ranging from rounds to spliced S.M. The bells are rung every Sunday before the 10 a.m. Service (not always on a 5th Sunday).
Visitors are always welcome.
