Fundraising

Over recent years we have raised in excess of £10,000 which has gone towards building and developing the courts at BTA, through a number of different types of activities, for example, wine tasting afternoons, auctions, golf days, dinners and themed parties.

We have recently installed electricity to the facility so that the courts can be fitted with specialised lighting equipment to allow us to extend playing hours when the clocks go back each autumn.

This next stage in the development of the BTA will enable us to continue running the After School Club – as we are currently unable to do this between the months of October and March, and keep the Ladies and Mens evenings running throughout the year, weather permitting of course. This opportunity will also enable us to look at new activities such as Youth Tennis sessions for older teenagers, and tournaments staged throughout the year.

We would like to extend our thanks to the support of our Associates, local sponsors and the many tennis fans in the villages. Key sponsors and supporters of the BTA since its creation in 2005, include SEA, The Sunday Group, Emma Books Ltd, The Woolpack, Square1 Communications, By the Byre and Fidelius. However, none of this would have been possible without the donation of land from Mrs Ruth Millet.

200 Club

The BTA operate a 200 Club as part of our fundraising activities – please download a form here should you wish to participate in the 200 Club for 2009/10. Alternatively please contact Tom Cahill on tomcahill@hotmail.com. The cost is £30 per entry for the year (there are no restriction on the number of entries per person) with 4 draws spread throughout the year. 40% of the funds raised are used for the draws, with the rest of the money going towards maintaining and developing the facilities.
